Even the best known, seen-it-a-million-times-before love story... even that was implemented very flatly and unmotivated.

Even that storyline...
Great German/Austrian movie
Great German/Austrian movie. Interesting scenario. Great actors. Convincing performance. Definitely recommended.
You get what you ask for.
It's exactly what you think it'd be.
Gerhardt is charming, but underutilized in her abilities.
Our protagonist is, well... To put it mildly: dull.
The story bears more potential in the first half but falls flat as it runs out. Would have gotten a higher score if not for that 100% clichéed and boring ending.
This is the most obviously "for 13 year old girls" marketed movie I've not only seen, but ever heard of.
Nethertheless, fun!
And what's why one would want to watch such a film.
The dude is jacked, she is gorgeous, everyone always has perfect hair and make-up.
Nobody "really" has any serious problem and it couldn't be more "happy end" -y.
Surely noone who came to see "that" was disappointed afterwards. But it's still the definition of not breaking any ground.
Wish there was more risk in German cinema.
But why should it be?
There is no incentive at all.
If you're a big studio with known actors producing a mediocre, generic 90-minute flick that will pull in the targeted demographic, you will ALWAYS get your millions in funding.
It's only business, it isn't art.
Creativity nowhere to be found.
Enjoyable movie. But a sad statement for the state of German cinema.
5/10.
