Genevieve is a woman that loves flowers and has a Flower shop. She loves Valetine's day because it is the day that she receives more money selling her flowers, but deep inside, she hates relationships. Love is a game for her, and she never has more then five dates with any guy, until she meets Greg, a handsome guy who buys a bar in the same street she has her Flower shop. They both are going to start dating and getting involved more then Genevieve would imagine. Are those rules that she usually uses going to be applied one more time?

I went to watch ''I Hate Valentine's Day'' with my cousin in the movie theaters and what a huge disappointment it was!

I liked so much ''My Big Fat Greek Wedding'', that when I saw that Nia Vardalos and John Corbett were going to do another romantic comedy together, I didn't think twice before going to watch this incredible couple again on screen.

But it was an error! The movie is boring, Nia's character is annoying ( I hated to see her forced smile all the time!) and the jokes are lame.

Don't spend your money with this movie, because it doesn't worth it.

I watched this movie on Valentine's Day, surprise surprise! Usually not really into romantic comedies as per se, but this movie provided good entertainment.

Of course it appeals more to a woman audience, but it was good entertainment to watch nonetheless. It never became sassy to the point where it stopped being fun. There weren't major laughs in the movie, but that didn't slow the movie down in anyway.

The cast was good, just goes to prove that a movie doesn't need to have those super big Hollywood movie stars to be good. The characters in this movie were all lovable and wonderful. I especially loved the co-starring roles, they were the ones bringing lots of color and depth to the movie; from the mom, the gay co-workers, to the girl with the scrapbook fetish, they all worked well in the story. The storyline was good and had a constant flow to it, so you were never left bored.

This movie would be an excellent choice when you plan to sit down with your special someone for an evening of romantic entertainment; let the movie be part of that evening. Personally I don't think this movie is the type that you will watch again once you've seen it already.

NYC flower shop owner Genevieve Gernier (Nia Vardalos) loves Valentine's Day. She doesn't date anybody for more than five dates to avoid going stale. Greg Gatlin (John Corbett) quit his law firm and bought the nearby cursed restaurant. Greg buys flowers for his girlfriend and then discovers that she's not exclusive. He's intrigued with Genevieve's dating system and they start going out.

This is written and made like a weak sitcom. Nia Vardalos faces an unPC problem of age and looks. She seems to have broken down a barrier with her big hit "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". However in MBFGW, she was a 30something homely spinster. She fits a lot better with that role and the family characters are vastly superior. It's seven years later. She's playing a flighty single with a flighty rule about dating. Her character has no heft and no substance. She should have let Zoe Kazan take the lead in this one. This is a clueless single gal sitcom and fortysomething Nia is too old to play that role. She can't be stuck on her daddy issues at that age without making it more interesting. I want better material for this lovable bunch.
