Plot summary
Six, a highly-skilled assassin in the deep-cover Sierra program of the CIA, is the agency's best merchant of death. However, a mission goes bad and now Six is on the run from the CIA with sociopathic former agent Lloyd Hansen hot on his trail. Aided by agent Dani Miranda and handler Donald Fitzroy, Six must be his most ruthless to avoid Hansen, who will stop at nothing to bring Six down.

Mediocre Spy Thriller
Two solid hours of efficient Netflix content is what's on offer here, the action-thriller equivalent of emptiness with nothing but cliche thrillers and mediocre action.
The Gray Man is mostly a collection of tired spy tropes, directed in a muddled and baffling way, that seemingly exists to set up what seems like will be a fairly unimaginative franchise.
The dialogues were cringe and didn't excite at all. The only grace was seeing Ryan Gosling on screen. A big budget film with neither strong screenplay nor efficient set up, The Gray Man feels like a sunk ship with lots of efforts vanishing in vain.
Aside from two hand-to-hand combat scenes, the fights are a dimly-lit mess of quick cuts and bullets flying, something similar to what Michael Bay has done all over these years.
Being a big budget film, The Gray Man is a disappointment to a greater extent, considering that the project had A List actors, but a poor storyline.

Visually as expected but surprisingly empty
Rushing from place to place after opening with a colorful killing in Bangkok adds little to get us into the story.
IMHO relying on Ryan Gosling and Ana de Armas proven star qualities fails to substitute a proper establishment of their characters in this movie. Of course as many others I wondered who took all the money Netflix paid for this production but as with so many other big productions today, it's not the point if CGI, actors or travel expenses of the crew were overpriced, the problem lies in the script. The art in script writing is to build up characters and a story. If you don't know why things happen, you don't care and all the surprises and zigzags of the plot loose a lot of their potential.
comeeeee onnnnn where is your common sense??? very overated movie. i cant beleive gosling and evans agreed to act in this bs. very unbelievable scenes (i mean really?? them paying top dollar for assasins and open fire on gosling, and him standing there and not get shot? i mean are you serious?? filming a movie throughout the globe just for what reason exactly??

Not recommended if you want to watch a masterpiece movie. But if you want to have FUN, watch it! The scenes are excellent, the scenario is soso while the events went too far ????. I thought there would be a world war III to get only one person ???? Who would do that thing?!

Thoroughly enjoyable action movie. Watch it.
Thought it was bad for the first 20 minutes, however if you get past the first 1/3 of the movie it really gets good and going. Usually movies that are bad at the start remain bad but this is one true exception, it gets really good once it gets going. So def worth the score it has (6.5)
Absolutely agree with those who says it's an enjoyable movie, it's far from a cult, it's nothing new under the sun but totally entertaining, I had a good couple of hours watching it.

very great action movie after a long time that can be easily pick on yts.mx mixture of actors adding more thrilling color for a movie. great story. no boring moment found on the rolling story. highly recommended for action seekers.

Books are Gray man is a top assassin, quiet, humble, righteous good guy, works alone, "gray man" because no one notices him, avoids being seen, would never wear a red suit and chew on toothpicks, no tattoos, his dad was a good guy not a brute, Fitzroy was an old British gentleman that arranged global contracts for assassinations. Other than the name, this has nothing to do with the Mark Greaney books! Hollywood is pathetic!

I am a big fan of the Grey Man Audiobook and this movie is nothing like the book save for the names only. They cast blacks for white people ( Denny Carmichael was elderly white, not a black young guy). The Casting is horrible as Gentry was a bulked out body builder unlike Gosling. They took scattered scenes from the books and patched them together in a mish mash fashion just to make it exciting. The real books are very good but this movie is extremely disappointing. Im trying to watch the whole thing but the political correctness makes me gag.

Pretty good flick. Kind of a cross between James Bond/Man on Fire/MacGyver/The Equalizer. Gosling does a good job as an action hero. No more HI movies, please.
