Ricky Gervais definitely made an impact on my 2019, with his fantastic series 'After Life' and with his stand-up routine Humanity.
In the latter, Ricky humorously talks about one of his favourite subjects to make fun of, people. And he's great at it, the guy has a natural talent to accurately describe some of the most annoying traits and features of different people, and do it so abrasively, sometimes even with a hint of bitterness, by being caustic and always delivering recklessly his usual sharp tongue.
His total disregard and indifference towards humanity is what shocks many of his poor detractors. I mean poor because he's actually right, you can joke about anything, and that you have to be aware of the target of the joke, meaning you can joke about race without being racist and joke about the sexes without being sexist. So before you judge a joke you have to be able to tell when Ricky's being honest about something or when he is just being sarcastic, or just plain despicable for comical effect.
There are countless little jokes inside each bit that make this a hilarious, must-see stand-up special. Ricky has a unique style, that combined with his distinctive worldview and British witty charm, it definitely makes him one of the reigning comedians these times are fortunate enough to have.
You can't miss this, and if you're easily offended, you still should watch this and see Ricky's perspective on that, it might be helpful. And to quote him, remember, "just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right". Enjoy!
Plot summary
In his first special in seven years, Ricky Gervais slings his trademark snark at celebrity, mortality and a society that takes everything personally.

Ricky, you're exactly what we need in this day and age
The always irreverent, always in-your-face Ricky Gervais talks about a number of topics in "Ricky Gervais: Humanity": celebrities, animal rights and the general question of what should get considered funny. My favorite part was his comment on the angry tweet that he got from a fundamentalist Christian.
It's times like these that make Gervais more necessary than ever (along with Michelle Wolf, and the other comedians who tear down ignorance). I hope to see a lot more from him!
Lol I thought he's Mr. Beast
